Internationally traveled, locally exhibited and awarded as an Interior Designer for her work with executive homes and estates in the Silicon Valley.
As a child Bogart drew on every piece of paper she found, mostly fashion, faces and designs of floor-plans.
In 1972 she moved to walled Berlin to study literature and history and later attended hotel-school that took her to Tunisia as tour-guide before she returned to Germany to complete a degree in business from Munich University of Technology.
Artist Statement - "Embracing Life as It Is"
My paintings mirror life in its intricacies and many layers. We start as a blank panel.
Throughout life there are many colorful (happy) events, but we also experience scrapes, scratches, punctures. We are knocked down and built up again. Nothing is really ever lost. Everything is part of life. And each life is a beautiful, deep and meaningful composition with a fine polish. The process only ends when life ends.
My paintings are encouragement for people to experience their life in its entire width and depth. The bad stuff is there too for a reason and not to be pushed aside or ignored. It is part of a rich life.
The Process
The pieces I create have 30 layers or more. I mix unusual colors, use a variety of tools and paint materials to create texture, depth and endless variety. It does not matter how long it takes as long as the end result is absolutely captivating inviting you to touch the surface.
In the Gallery
I came to meet the Founder and Managing Director of Gallery South in 2018 through the Artist’s community. This brought me to presenting a solo show for the Gallery during which time I am pleased to attend the Opening Reception Mar 31st beginning at 2pm – Join Us!
